can anyone tell me what the screwdriver type is called that i need to take out screws from one on my "white goods" (breadmaker) the screw top looks like a wood screw (a diagonal cut) but this has a piece in the middle of the screw top i:e two halves of a cut
sorry to be less descriptive its one of my failings, but i'm sure an electrician on here knows what i mean

Oh I think I know the one you mean.

if it's the one I'm thinking of then just get an old flat head screwdriver and file a slot across the centre of the tip?

Take a look at the bottom row of these. http://www.amazon.co....qid=1259006719&sr=8-1
I think that's what you mean. They are for security screws. As Chuck 'IT God & Lord of the Cyber Wave' Fickens said, if you don't want to buy some just file or saw a notch in a standard screwdriver.
