Mikey...I agree with your comments completely , but many of the modern mothers have totally disregarded etiquette and set a poor example to the children. I suppose that one gets used to the smell of bodily fluids and sweat as it is probably perceived as healthy. It also amazes me that the husbands, other halves, partners or whatever, allow them to act on this...

Firstly, most of these people dont work and are clearly not motivated something that will rub off onto the kids, secondly not bothering about yourself show slovenliness which the kids will pick up on then will find it difficult to get and hold onto employment. Thats if they bother in the first place given the parent has, in many cases, shown how to sponge of the State.

My initial reaction is that it’s a lack of self-respect, but it isn’t. It’s a lack of respect for everyone else. A bit like those blokes who frequent public places (other than beaches) shirtless in the summer, imposing their sweaty bodies upon everyone in close proximity. Shameful really, that a teacher should feel it necessary to attempt to educate parents in basic civility.
Ummm...lounging about in your pajamas in your own home has nothing whatsoever to do with taking your children to school in your pajamas, which I suspect you were aware of.
If you read the link, the Head also said that people were turning up at assemblies and meetings in their night clothes. Do you honestly think that that is a responsible and appropriate way to behave ?

I often see women at the local shop in night clothes and a dressing gown.
Last week I was in an electrical ( TVs and computers) shop and a woman was paying a bill dressed in pyjamas and a dressing gown , full make up though! I have also seen a woman mowing her front garden lawn in night clothes. Never seen a male out in night clothes and a dressing gown though,seems to be a 'girly' thing.
