i have worked under both it doesnt really make tha much difference as overtime isnt a given unless it is set out that you get that for weekend work - it does make a difference when calculating holiday pay when you leave as each day you are owed should be one fifth of a week and not one seventh.

Not too sure what you are getting at here. If you are paid an annual salary based on Mon - Fri then weekends should be overtime.
when my hubby was in his last job he worked mon-fri and saturday morning. this was all included in his salary.
Yes they are allowed to include weekend days. Unless things have changed very recently.
It depends on your contract. I work in payroll with employees on two different sets of terms and conditions. One set are paid for 365 days a year, the other just for Monday to Friday. The former is by far the most common.

If your contract says the annual salary and the hours to work and you agreed that at the beginning I dont see what difference it makes until you do extra
I am currently on a salary and my overtime at weekends is at single rate, i think this is quite common tho there are some office workers in the same company as me who dont get paid for weekend work as they are classed as having staff conditions. i think its down to the contract that you negotiate.
