Hi, I have a vintage picture that has a sticker on the back saying 117/6d. Can anyone tell me what that is in today's money?

yeah it is rather obvously £ 1 - 17 -6 £1.87 as near as ( out by a ha'penny) a quid then bought what £10 does now - more like £12 ( 1914 - £1 - bought the same as 1971 - £10, 2000, £100 ) 1815-1914 £1 roughly no change

117 shillings is £5.85, and 6d is 2.5p so that's £5.87 and 0.5p
I don't think they would have priced it like that though- it would have said £5 17s 6d
Should it be £1 17/6 ?
That's a very unusual price sticker - are you sure it wasn't 11 7/6 ie, £11 7s 6d or 1 17/6 ie £1 17s 6d?

Are you sure it is 117/6d and not £1 17s 6d?
Think it must be, andres
I also think it must be £1 17/6 which was a very common price to use bearing in mind half crowns (2/6) were in abundance

Thanks everyone! Yeah, it's marked 117(no space between the ones)/6d. That's what I found confusing, too
