How Much Would £2 10S Kept Untouched In A Post Office Account Since 1955 Be Worth With Interest Today?

I dont know what an average interest rate over 59 years would be , any way of working it out very roughly.

Current value = past value ( 1+ i )^period Current Value= £2.50(1+ 0.05)^59 = £44.47 (5%) (power of 59)

If interest rates were 3% for the full 59 years it would be £14.30.
If interest rates were 5% for the full 59 years it would be £44.47.
If interest rates were 7% for the full 59 years it would be £135.39
I put £2.50 in this calculator as it doesn't do 'old' money (would £2.50 be about right?) Anyways it says £55.56
