In the past few days, every time I've switched on/off our brass light switches, or touched anything metal etc., I've been getting electric/static shocks.
It used to happen to me a lot at work when opening the filing cabinets. What can I do to prevent this happening as it's very unnerving? I did once read that you can buy an anti-static spray, but can't remember much else about it.
Thanks.

I was thinking of wearing one of those anti-static straps that you used to dangle from cars if you remember them, but I thought I may have looked a bit silly wearing one.
