The wear on the soles of my walking boots is all on the outside edges. There wasn't that pattern of wear on boots I've had in the past.
Could I be going bandy in my old age?

I doubt whether that you will go "bandy" but you may wear the outside of your shoes out due to compensatory gait following osteo-arthritis of the hip. Wear and tear of the ageing hip joints, even without pain, but more so with it,produces a gait which attempts to relieve any hip problems....a sort of "waddle" develops, particularly if one hip joint is affected...

Have you had a bone scan at all? Osteoporosis can cause bones to bow.

The abnormal gait affects the wear of your footwear, affecting the outside of your shoes.

Here's the wear on one of the boots. I do have a couple of 'slipped discs' and I know I'm walking differently now to try and compensate for that.
