We had a row and he has left to

did you take your laptop with you????
My heart goes out to you. You haven't spoiled your birthday treat he has.
You stay where you are, go out and have tea at the Ritz and enjoy your trip to the theatre and stand your ground.

Based on the facts given, he has been unreasonable - he knows you are on a budget and the Hotel was simply a stopover to a nice day tomorrow - doll yourself up, go and enjoy it.
Tell him he is a dick and get very drunk.

Yeah I know I won't enjoy it tomorrow. But if I go home (tomo only cos where i live the last train out of London is 10:20pm) ... If I go gone tomo AM I will never hear the end of how I wasted his money by not going to the show. Doomed if I go , doomed if I don't ... ( sad ... Tonight I was hoping for lusty (lol) fun followed by cultural day tomo .., now awake wondering if he'll get home safe etc
for pete's sake - he walks out on his wife because he doesn't like a hotel room? And he won't even answer your calls?

That's not the way grown-ups behave. Is there anything else going on between you?

Nah jno ... Everything's been fine, marriage gd (really) its just the first
Time ever that I didn't give in
To his tantrum
And didn't follow when he threatened.

Well head wreck ... It gets
Better... The theatre ticket was originally booked for another date but ... He cancelled that date as .... It was a (his)friends bday party! He is generally a kind man.... Just the littlest (like hotel) things gd makes a huge deal of and just go's on And on. I think this is the first time I've stood my ground. Instead if making me feel empowered tho I feel guilty/ sad/ anxious ... And very alone

well, that's something. All the same, I wonder what his reason was for not wanting to be with you. Was he missing something on the telly? Does he get nervous when away from home? Does he really need to be in the Four Seasons before he can abide your company? And why the sarky texts?

Perhaps you didn't have that "for richer, for poorer" thing in your wedding service.

Anyway, it's your birthday, have tea, enjoy the theatre, and don't spoil the time by wondering why he's behaving like a jerk. Sort it out when you get back, not before.
