Doc said the "foetus hadn't broken through the egg" ? Her womb was flushed and the pregnancy terminated. Poor woman 30y is devastated & lost 2stone in weight.

Has anyone heard of such a procedure ?

Maybe an ectopic pregnancy. Rare but a necessary termination.

Sorry Tamborine, have never heard that expression and in truth it makes little sense, is she was distressed as of course she would be, she may have misheard the doctor. She can recontact and ask for a clearer explanation, how very sad.

She's my dentist Mamya, I've known her from her infant school. Those are the words the doc used. It's her first pregnancy.
Does she mean a blighted ovum tamborine where there is a sac but no baby as such?
I think Nox has it correct and maybe the doctor simplified it to her, still tragic.
