Paracetamol - double dose

Hi - I regularly take Solpadol (two in the evening, two in the morning) for chronic lower back pain. I've only just realised that yesterday evening, by a stupid mistake, during a period of about one hour, I took four capsules instead of my usual two - effectively doubling one of my usual doses.

I'm worried 'cos of all the dire overdose warnings on the packet and on various websites. Am I in any danger?

There should be a leaflet in the box with the tablets. What does it say?
no9 danger unless over 16 caps consumed in 24 h0ours.if in doubt phone nhs 24
a one off will probably be ok so long as you are not taking more than 8 tabs in 24 hours so you took 6 in a day not 4 Ring NHS direct for reassurance

"Research shows that the common threshold for liver damage to occur from a single paracetamol overdose is 15 gms (30 tablets)"

I'm just surprised you are still awake - 2 of those things knock me out.
Drink a lot of water, help flush them through - and just wait as long as you can before you have the night one. I've taken them too close together by mistake in the past - just keep an eye on how you're feeling, but it should be OK this once.
