Since the 'crisis' with the tooth fairy about two weeks ago, my daughter's tooth has fallen out today and she is expecting a special box from the tooth fairy too - not easy on a bank holiday when the shops have shut! As she forgot about it at bed time we are going to have to front it out in the morning and sort something out for tomorrow night (these things have a horrible way of spiralling out of control - hope no one mentions it to the two youngest when their teeth start falling out, will cost us a fortune).

Tell her that the Tooth Fairy doesn't work on bank holidays :)

Excellent - she'll fall for that one (being five she is quite easy to dupe).
Tut tut, sherrard, conning your little princess :( I never did that with my kids......honest, guv ;)
Good luck :)
I remember getting one of mine a pair of trainers from the market for £10. She was just at the age when kids start feeling embarrassed if they haven't got the 'right gear'. When she got in from school and I gave them to her, she had a neutral face and asked how much they were. I said £55. Her face lit up and she put them on straightaway, beamimg from ear to ear.
One thing I did that persuaded them that it was the tooth fairy and not me, was to sprinkle glitter in the tissue the tooth was wrapped up in... Pip used to say.. 'it can't be you mum.. you don't have fairy dust!' Sucker..!
That's so cute, hip.....you slyboots, you :)

Used to just get a pound from the fairy and they were happy but two weeks ago my son's tooth fell out (one which had been badly chipped when he was about two and looked awful) and then he swallowed it. As the printer wasn't working he got a special 'present' of a little tooth fairy box (an old present from my husband that the kids weren't aware of). Now our daughter is expecting something special!
We reap what we sow, Sherrard ;)
pussnboots I think I've told this tale before but never mind. When my daughter was about 6 or 7 and at infants school she lost a tooth one night. I made a teeny weeny letter from tissue paper and made a small envelope ( fairy size) I wrote a thank you for tooth from the fairy and put it under her pillow with some sparkley dust and a 10p (cheaper in those days) she took the letter to school and all the other kids then expected the same, the other mothers weren't very happy with me as they all had to start making fairy letters.
Got rumbled in the end Arti.. and now if a random tooth appears, he helps himself to a quid out my purse... not always an action that results in fruition on his part as there's normally scrunched up Tesco receipts and loosing raffle tickets instead of actual money in there...!!!
^^^^^ sorry this is my answer to your earlier post.
lol, so you get your purse cleaned out for free, hip.....sort of like a purse valeting....and, btw, stop sounding so pleased with yourself for conning your little ones ;)
Sherrard: So that was you, was it? Ggrrr....I wondered who it was ;)
BTW, also, Sherrard, the title of your Post. Does it mean a tooth fairy who is bloodied, or a tooth fairy that trades in bloodied teeth or are you just being vulgar and swearing? :)

Hi all - yes, made a right rod for our backs here. Going to look for cheap boxes on the net ready for when the twins' teeth start falling out (not going to get caught out again).
Sherr.. adopt the old 'glitter in the tissue'.. saves a fortune..

Sher, I got a box for my daughter when her teeth started to fall out and it's specially for teeth. It's a wooden tooth with a face on it and a hat that comes off for you to put the teeth in. It cost a pound (although it was a good few years ago now) and it was out of Debenhams or another of the big department stores.

It wasn't quite like this, but here's a job lot on Ebay (US site)
