After months of tryingv via GP ect,  im finallly down for an alohol detox, in a medical setting. (ie, in an inpatient ward with appropriatte meds for withdrawal)  Its a 7 day 'in house' course.

And am currently engaged with a weekly group for people on the same path. (its a long waiting list) could be next year...

Nailedit - I am very sorry to hear of your continuing struggles.I once had a long term client who had a similar issue.  He did manage to get off the drink.  He did it by slowly lengthening the time between when he stopped drinking and when he started again.  Just by a little bit at a time.  I can't remember precisely what he did but it was something like if he had his...

I simply cant stop drinking without feeling ill.

Dry wretching, shakes (I couldnt write a letter) chest pains, sweating etc.

Ive had enough..

I want to see my grandauter grow up.

Ive currently got a bashed up face where i fell.

Dont want my daughter seeing that.

Dry October. I know you have strong views about AA but why not just give them a try. It won't hurt or the Sally Army. You have the insight to realise you can't do this alone and that you have a disease.Disease needs a doctor though not necessacerrally a medical one. Give it a try

what do you want then? painless? you feel rough when you stop, right? but you know that's the way, do it, endure it, the reward is waiting.

Im now permantly got drink inside of me,

you don't want to get better, you come on here for some sort of miracle cure when you don't want it. We've all tried me old china but you are the only one who can do this if you really wanted to.

Thats why in he past I have worked through covid etc is it?

 

Then work through this prove me wrong. Get clean, no one will be more delighted than me.
