A family member uses one on her face and is pleased with results. Her skin does look beautifully smooth. I'd be worried fine hair would grow back thicker.

I wouldn't fancy starting that on my face, doesn't seem right somehow. Legs yes, face?

Well I've used one on my legs for years, but wouldn't use it on my face. I found electrolysis best for face,...they do grow back but very sparse, :)

I thought they were only for legs! I'd be frightened to use one on my face. I too had electrolysis years ago and was pleased . like you said, hairs grew back a bit but very sparsely. Thanks.
Have you seen the ads for Nono? Haven't a clue what they do...could Google it, I suppose ;)

a website called pissedconsumer has got to be impartial, right?
Just spat me wine out !! ;-)
Braun claim that two of their epilators are suitable for facial use:
http://www.braun.com/global/female-grooming/silk-epil-epilators/silk-epil-9/silk-epil-9-models.html

They also include this information on their website:
"Will more hair grow back if I epilate?
No, this has been proven in dermatological tests. In fact, studies show that ongoing epilation reduces the amount of hair re-growth, making them lighter, softer and fine, with a semi-permanent effect. Say goodbye to stubble that’s rough and hard and hello to 4 weeks of smoothness".

OK, of course Braun aren't unbiased but given (a) their reputation ; and (b) the strict controls on advertising claims these days, the evidence they cite from 'dermatological tests' might have some validity to it.
Hmmm pulling out my nasal hairs doesn't seem to have made them lighter, softer, nor finer over the years. Still makes my eyes try to water.
OG hasn't used an epilator or a razor in years if his avatar is anything to go by.....
Or if he has he should write a critical review of it on pissedconsumer.com.
epilators obviously hadn't been invented when charles dickens was around
sorry, meant charles darwin :-)
The beard had a function. It provided a safe nesting site for a small flock of endangered Galapagos Island cross-billed Finches.

Good one Buenchico. I think that must be the one she bought. I know she got it at discounted price and is pleased with it. Might get one myself!

Hair is hair, isnt it?
I'd only bother with course hair like you'd find on legs, not fine hair.
Patsy "I'd be worried fine hair would grow back thicker." I think you will find that, is just a myth!
best post for sandy

short concise and directly applicable - hi Sandy !

I thought about epilating cream instead of shaving when I was 16
and all that happened is that I got called 'girlie'
Good old days huh ?
and I looked you know down THERE and I am still a boy !

Oh the point I wanted to make was that shaving/epilating does NOT make the hair grow back thicker that is an old wives' tale

Braun says hairs grow back thinner, so must be right, right?? ......
