Mo Hayder..Birdman

I saw someone had recommended Mo Hayder for the book club so thought I would give it a try. The Librarian said she had not been able to finish this book and I thought what a wimp. I certainly got my eyes opened. I thought Mo must stand for Maurice as no woman could write about such things.I have just got her picture up and what a sweet looking person, have you ever made assumptions about a writer and been shocked.

She does have a darker side but I have read the majority of her stuff and it is all pretty good.
If you go on to read the walking man books, although they stand alone, it is best to read them as a series as they do hark back to previous books a bit.
The hero is Jack Cafferty and it charts his career as a murder detective.

I will give them a try shoota, I have just got Hanging Hill so it hasn't put me off all together just a bit near the knuckle for her first book.
Shoota is right - the Cafferty books are a ripping good read.

Goodness Duncer don't think I've heard that expression since I read Enid Blyton when I was 7.
