identifying a bird.

ive looked thru a few sites and cant find what im looking for.

its a sea bird of gull size, they were flying in small groups very close to the sea, i saw the bird somewhere between jersy/gurnsey and portsmouth, the bird was white and the last third of the wing was black.


any ideas please.

tnx 237sj, i think you are probably right, it was difficult to get a accurate size as i was on a ferry but these look right.
