Dear All,

After 8 or 9 years (I honestly can't remember) of looking after, moderating and editing The AnswerBank in some capacity, I am moving on to pastures new.

I've enjoyed watching the site change over the years, from the frankly wild and lawless place I inherited to the fairly well-rounded site we have now (with a lot of silliness in between).

It has been a pleasure serving the community and I look forward to seeing how it grows and changes in the future. My last day of tyranny will be Friday 30th June.

Naturally, we're not leaving you Edless. In fact, the current Spare Editor will be stepping up to fill in my role (but you know, better). She will be taking up the AB Editor account and using that as their main form of communication with you, our dear readers.

The new Ed has lots of exciting things planned, and I am looking forward to enjoying them as a member.

Yes, I'll be signing up as a regular after I leave so I can check in on the usual troublemakers :)

I am sure there's something I've missed, so please feel free to ask questions below.

I think the ed has been on already ... maybe, maybe not, I just like snooping and guessing - while you're here ed, can I just ask as I never understood what you meant about the parachute when you were replying to some abers - oh it's back there on one of them pages, one of the abers said something about Mrs May and Arlene Foster or something and I missed the 'joke' somehow - it wreckes me head when I don't understand ;)

My question about 'amnesty' was regarding 'user name' change which was promised .
Is there any chance of that being considered by the Ed designate and the Board ?

I think Choux implied that I was being given loads of cash as part of my departure. This can sometimes be called a golden handshake or golden parachute - i.e. something (usually excessive) given to the departed as a means of compensation.

It was a joke though, I am being thrown out unceremoniously on my behind :)
