No clue query, just wanted to say that, unless it's a misprint, another publication has cut their c/w prize - Country Life now offers a prize of £15 in book tokens, down from £25. I can't help but be a tad disappointed at the CL; you'd think they'd be able to afford the extra tenner. Sign of the times etc...

I wonder if the Sunday Express saved money by it's swingeing cuts to xword prizes versus lost sales.🙄

£15 is an odd value. It's like £20 was still too much and £10 was taking the Michael.

That really is pretty pathetic.  Even my free village area magazine offers a £25 wordsearch prize.

I wonder how long the MoS will keep their £1,500 prize crossword.

Question Author

I think the Mos will hold out for a while longer. So many said they jumped ship to them after the Express cuts that they must be raking it in from text and phone entries.

Question Author

It's back to £25 this week so it was probably a misprint...or someone thought better of it ;)

"Misprint" is one of the answers haha
