A coupe of things come to mind from this story.

1) If circumcision can lead to penis amputation, how come it is still legal?

2) Whilst this procedure will be excellent for cases like cancer, now it is proven to work just how long before it is abused and it becomes for cosmetic reasons ?

But where would they find the donors?
I think it would be a 'special' sort of man that would want a dead man's penis sewn on to him if he had a perfectly healthy penis already.
anything can lead to amputation if it's botched, but I wouldn't spend too much time crossing my legs and fretting about it if I were you. I think you'll find the odds vanishingly small.

As for cosmetic surgery, how many donors do you think they'll find?
(PS why did I think this was going to be a thread about Eric Pickles?)
It sounds to me like it is already illegal, hence the bodge job done by someone not medically trained.
meglet....

I wouldn't be too sure about that.

Penis amputation following a botched circumcision is extremely rare.

Cancer of the penis is extremely rare.
Glad to hear it!
Do they do reductions too?
I'm sick of having bruised knees!

Nice one Talbit, will you be the first doner then?

Indeed , especially when you don't know where it's been
where would it all end ?
///1) If circumcision can lead to penis amputation, how come it is still legal? ///

Activity which can lead to an amputation is widespread and legal (cf the recent Alton Towers episode) so don't expect any help from that direction. There is a limit to the amount of "protection" the Nanny State can exercise.

i think you'll find that the alton towers episode is far from legal - the holding company has had enforcement action taken against it (prohibition notice) and since these are a matter of public record, you'll find the document here
http://www.hse.gov.uk/notices/
once the appeals process has been exhausted (usually after 9 weeks).
OK mushroom, so IYO that was a poor example, but what about driving - lots of amputations occur in accidents there, so my point still stands.

We couldn't ban driving because it sometimes leads to amputations, ditto circumcision.

We couldn't ban gliding because it sometimes leads to amputations, ditto circumcision.

We couldn't ban skiing because it sometimes leads to amputations, ditto circumcision.

We couldn't ban cycle racing because it sometimes leads to amputations, ditto circumcision.

We couldn't ban trains because they sometimes leads to amputations, ditto circumcision.

.... and so on. You can't legislate against things going wrong.

Have I made my point clearer now ?
//Have I made my point clearer now ? //

yes thanks

but

i was just following the lead from your previous "alton towers" post, where you implied that it was all a nefarious tory plot to ensure the downtrodden masses got their legs chopped off.

erm no one lost their penis in that one did they ?

and no accidental circumcision either

Well if they did, they can now have another bigger one.
I dont think it necessarily needs a donor to provide a new penis. Recently there was a TV programme showing a replacement being made from skin rolled from the patients arm with a narrower piece of skin creating a "urethra". By using his own skin there was a better chance of avoiding rejection.
'Penis injury by vacuum cleaner 'can lead to amputation!

If you are looking for a '***' don't use the Hoover!
