In Microsoft word, how do I turn off the automatic date. When I open an old letter, today's date appears. I want the date to appear when I typed the letter originally. Thanks.

When you type January, February and want the remaining months to appear, when you hold your mouse at the bottom right hand corner and allow a solid cross to appear, dragging downwards fills the rest...
