Damp smell in Mattress

We have a problem with a spare matress that was kept in a dmp room, didnt know the room was damp at the time, matress now still smells slightly of damp. Thai is after approx a year in a bone dry room...

I have recently installed &two light fittings from B&Q in my kitchen. They both hold a set of 4 GU10 (240V)&50W Halogen bulbs. Ventilation should not be a problem as they are not recessed...
