Laptop Problem

Was using laptop earlier today with no problem.. just switched it on now..beside my user photo was a message which I think said configuring or starting Windows..now everything seems to have reverted...

Just switched Vodafone phone on, not used it for a few weeks, message on screen says Invalid SIM...... does anyone know what I need to do now?

It's really annoying Fiona Bruce keep saying "The" Flying Scotsman.. the engine is Flying Scotsman..you wouldn't say "The" Mallard or "The" Leander.. should maybe have done a little more research....
