Windows 7 - how can I switch off auto selection when new window opens.

When I open a window and place the mouse anywhere near it it auto selects, can you switch this off folks, if so how ?

Do you complain if food is brought to you cold in a pub etc ?

It just that some people will eat the food and only complain afterwards. As for myself, I go up to the bar and ask for a refund, then leave....
