electrical motor connection

I have a 1ph boxford lathe with 4 wires - 2 white and 2 light pink - which eminate from the on/off direction change terminal. I also have a new motor which is a Compton (1ph, 550W, 1425rpm, H2 50)....

Does this word exsist?

Does anyone know the meaning of the word PLODSTAR and indeed if it even exsists? I have looked in 3 dictionaries and can't find it anywhere - I think my fella might be winding me up!!

I have a design for a jumper in my head but no one will knit it because they say you need a pattern. Does anyone know where I could get a pattern drawn up? (I have no idea when it comes to knitting!)

I'm trying to locate a hotel on the coast of Kent that houses an original 1930s toaster. Apparently the hotel is well known for it. Can anyone help??
