how long does it take to receive a summons!

friend was told 6 weeks agogoingto court and has been waiting 6 weeks now is this the norm..........she wants it over and done with asap

Can anyone help please..... Have a friend who to cut along story short, was being harrassed the police issued a harrassment order against perpetrator. he then makes a statement saying she was abusive...
