The Handwheel And Feed Dogs On My Singer Sewing Machine Move But The Needle Won't - Nothing To Do With Bobbin Winder So What Can It Be?

Plugged my sewing machine in and sewed happily for half an hour or so and then.... the needle suddenly refused to move! Have oiled it as it says in the manual and cleaned the bobbin case but no joy....
