working visa for australia with a conviction + caution

i am looking to go australia to travel for a year later this year but have made 2 very silly mistakes and i am woried now i wont be able to go. i want to get a working visa jus to make a bit of money...

conv/police/vol work??

i am doing a crimonology degree sept for 4 1/2 yrs partime. i am wanting to get into police after ive done it or something within the criminal field.....prob is i have a drink driving conv from 3 yrs...

us embassy/caution

can anyone tell me if the us embassy will have record of cautions?? i have got a visa interview may and should i tell them or not as would they find out??? thanks

does anybody know if the us embassy would deny me getting a j-1 visa with a drink driving conviction from 2 1/2 yrs ago. I have a placement as camp america in june but duno if its gona be worth me...

is drink driving classed as a criminal conv and if so could this stop me getting a us visa for 2 mnths as i have a placement for camp america but dont know how this will affect getting my visa?
