I recently saw an advert on TV for this, which claims to remove hair without the need for razors or creams. Does anyone know if it works and would it be worth getting?

It is a mechanised method of hair removal called buffing or rubbing....if you fancy a cheap try out at this there is a product available at most chemists called a silky mit.....you simply rub this along you legs (or whatever part of your body you wish to epilate) and the friction removes the hair......not the best method for heavier hair growth though.
I've tried the silky mit to which sft refers, and it is effective, although it's very hard work!! So if there's a mechanised version I'd probably be tempted to try it. Shame it's too late to put it on my Christmas list!! :-)
My daughter has one. She thinks it is wonderful, no pain and smooth silky finish. Better than wax, but it won't shift thick hair I think a Black and Decker sander would though !
