I have a file icon in my download folder which apparently does not exist - if I try to delete it, I'm told "Could not find this item". If I try to modify or move it, the same error message appears. Yet it is still there, every time I switch the PC on.

Does anyone know how I can exorcise this ghost file?

There are several ways but here's how I'd do it:

Go to the location of your Downloads folder and rename it to DownloadsOld. Create a new, empty, Downloads folder. Copy everything except the ghost file from DownloadsOld to Downloads. Delete DownloadsOld.
