I don't mind getting texts to remind me of an appointment but today they've sent me a survey asking how likely would I be to recommend my Doctor's Surgery to family and friends if they needed similar treatment. Marking them from 1 (most unlikely) to 10 (extremely likely), then I must send my reply to a 31digit nhs.net address. Considering that my family and friends are scattered all across North and West Yorkshire and the odd corners of Suffolk and Buckinghamshire, Dorset and Durham, what are the chances that they will attend my Doctors surgery. What a waste of NHS money sending texts such as this, and who do I complain to?

Thanks mamya, I will look into that.
I'm with PP. Just reply with the highest rating, keeps them happy and you happy. If you reply with the lowest rating they might remove you from the panel. In any case the 1 to 10 scale is ridiculous. How do you decide whether it is a 6 or a 7, for instance?
the assumption is that you'll have friends who live close by, wich many people do. There's actually a website soomewhere where you can criticise (or praise) your GP anonymously, but I've forgotten the address.
If you complain they are sending you emails and wasting money, then they will have to reply to you with an email which will waste even more money!

Blimey Peter, do you mean this just to get close up and personal with us all? That was 10 lines of text. I wonder how much it costs the NHS to send out these texts. MrAsk and I received two texts each to remind us to go for our flu jabs yesterday and then the Doc wouldn't give me mine because I've got flu! I have to go for my jab at the end of October now. What a waste. I'll have a look at mamya's suggestion, and let you know if I get fobbed off.
doesn't cost much to send an email.
I seriously doubt you have got flu if you are able to use a computer and read texts
AJG most doctors practices are within NHS but are basically run by the the owners of the the practice. The more they do the more they earn.

True retro, but I'll send an e-mail just to tell them how stupid it would be for my friend in Dorset to travel to see my wonderful Doctor here. Considering some people have to wait a week or two to see their own doctor I don't think my recommendations will cut any ice with my family and friends or the patients at my Doctors surgery for clogging it up more than ever.

Oh woof I wouldn't say that I can read texts or type etc. that well. I've been over a week now with a hacking cough aching bones and just about a few hours sleep per night. I'm sat with warm whisky honey and lemon at the mo and I am seriously going to bed shortly.
