Have you seen this programme? BBC 1 (now) 16.00. I've NEVER seen such a load of tosh in all my life. It's SO ridiculous I have to watch it. Do you remember Harry Enfield's "Yah, saw you coming" character? Well this is it in real life! Someone throwing away one of those old glass display cabinets. Sarah rescued it, took it to an artist, left the artist with £500 to work her "magic" and sold it for £600.

Oh Horseshoes, I have been shouting at the TV all week! I, too have to watch it, but honestly, some of the stuff being 'thrown away' is so unbelievable. the other day she took a box of old China and lo and behold right at the bottom was aClarice Cliff bowl! Don't believe anyone would throw that out, everyone knows they are worth a few bob. Many of them say 'it's a shame...

Many of them say 'it's a shame to throw it out'. Errr why not take it to the Charity Shop then?

And the prices she gets for the stuff is mind boggling, I often upcycle stuff but barely make my money back, materials are expensive and people won't pay the prices she suggests.

Having said all that, it is compulsive viewing.
Lovely chair tonight ... & beauty is in the eye of the beholder & all that ;0/ I thought the lemon cutting boards were nice, but 15.00??
I had this on in the background the other day, and there was a geeky looking bloke who found or bought a wooden coat rack, took it home, painted it, and tried to sell it for £300.00, I wouldn't have given him £3 Quid for it
She asked for anything over a fiver for the lemon cutting boards and was immediately offered £15. You'd think most pub landlord would have offered £6.
I think there are 2 different programmes being discussed here. Money for nothing & French Connection.
Yes, trt, is thinking of French Collection, but the sentiments are the same.
How is it money for nothing when she pays out hundreds or in one case £1.000 for work to be done, I don't believe it.
I only saw it once when she did up an old sofa. The result was beautiful.
