I have already put this in 'Internet and Technology' but thought I might get a quicker answer in here.

The other day I downloaded the Msn Beta version but decided I didn't like it and reinstalled the Msn 7.5 version. It was all working fine. My brother did the same, and reinstalled the old version on his laptop too. Then my brother was telling me that his msn sounds had gone! There was no alert sounds anymore when he got an email or when someone signed in or even when someone messaged him. I told him to check the sound settings and they were all fine. Then.. suddenly I realised mine no longer had sound to them either and I checked my settings and all was fine! Has anyone else had this problem? If so.. how do I fix it? My msn has lost sound completely. All the sound settings are set correctly and yes my speakers are turned on. Lol.

Hi Rubyrose

Have you checked Tools/Options/Alerts & Sounds ? There are some tick boxes there, maybe they've become unticked.

Yep.. checked that Roady. Alll ticked and correct. :o(
Maybe uninstall and try again. I'd leave that option til last though. Wait and see if anyone comes up with a better idea first.
Have you actually tested that the speakers are working ?

I'm sure you have but just in case:-

msn / Tools /Audio & Video Set up / Next / Click on your speakers / Play Sound and check the volume is not at zero

Yeah I am leaving the uninstall until last CT. Lol

Roady my speaker work fine coz I have watched a dvd and listened to music.

I think CT's suggestion is the best one so far ...... I can't think of anything else, apart from asking say on CS - there's a fair few folk on there at the moment.

Hmmmm bu*ger! I was hoping it would be something simple. Maximo works for Msn. Surely she can help? Lol.
