Need somewhere for a couple of 84 and 87, plus sister of 78.
Children have flown the nest, and we three are tired of sitting round looking at each other and dozing.
Snag is, none of us are very mobile!!
Any suggestions (recommendations!) for friendly, festive accommodation very welcome.

Have you tried Saga? or checkout this link:

no Jack..by someone who lives there..don't be so bleepin rude
there are also lots of tinsel and turkey breaks usually coach travel to hotel that provides entertainment..they are all over the UK look in any Sunday paper holiday sections
Clearly the SNP have expunged the word 'joke' from the national vocabulary. Quelle surprise!
you certainly don't know me at all..I am so anti SNP ..
Britannia Hotels offer Christmas breaks at many of their hotels across the UK:

In order that we can offer further suggestions though, it might help us to know roughly where you live. If, for example, you live in a rural part of northern Scotland, it probably won't be much use if we suggest somewhere in Cornwall!
A work colleague of mine goes to Warner hotels with her relatives who are 94 and 88. They find them welcoming, and you can easily hire things like mobility scooters on site before you go.
Do you mean in this country or overseas? Inland or by the sea? Areas like the Cotswolds or maybe Suffolk (Bury st Edmunds is nice). As Minty say, Edinburgh is a good idea. LOTS to see and do there. You don't say whereabouts in the UK you are. I love the Isle of Wight at that time of year. Peaceful, no tourists about. Wherever you decide to go, have a lovely time. Saga and Warner offer good Christmas full board packages if you're interesred in entertainmet all being laid on for you.
If you search for turkey and tinsel you'll see all the different companies who run these popular Christmas breaks at UK hotels. Shearings, Warners, Grand UK Door2door etc. There are lots to choose from across plenty of locations.
My next door neighbour and two of her friends, all late 70s, go to Turkey and Tinsel break every year and love them. They have a great time.
A bus trip with organised entertainment is great. My 84 year old mother and her friend went up to Scotland and had a whale of a time with folks, nice food good hotel and Irish and Folk music -that was the theme of the holiday. I'm trying to get her off again as it stopped her moaning for at least two months ;-)
agree on the question of geography.... down here the Nare hotel is brilliantly set up for old folk, downstairs bedrooms, overlooking the sea, they arrange bridging from the station or airport......not cheap though. http://www.narehotel.co.uk/welcome

The Cotswolds, again a question of availability and budget but I bet these folk put of a good show.... http://www.lowerslaughter.co.uk/
