Ether - Number as in anaesthetic
Ether - 'number', something that numbs - double anagram of 'three' & 'there'
anagram of three and there

Thanks.....I've seen 'number' for anaesthetic before but never remember it.
I shall immediately write it down on a piece of paper and put it away safely in my cardigan pocket.

Thanks, pals.
