Hi ABers, does anyone know the purpose, current or former; of the wooden structures on Crosby shore near to the Anthony Gormley statues? I though that they may be an old fire beacon holder from the past?
Thanks in advance.

An imposing wooden structure, that denotes to shipping that there is a submerged cable that crosses the river. It is a navigation aid, especially for dredgers in the mersey channel.
