u can even tell when it cuts out and back into a scene that that's the point where the ADS are meant to come in.

Welcome to the US style of ad breaks
if you find this irritating, try watching abc1. It's usually hour comedy progs, and the ads kick in when the titles finish at the start, then the next break happens just before the titles at the end, the titles for the next prog come up, and guess what? ads again.

Yeah it is so stupid. I remember when i went to the US and it was like....Ad break then the programe starts...then bang another Ad break. Then 1 half way in and then 5 mins before the end....bang, another one. Then they come back and it's like.."ok, same time next week, thanks for watching" then the credits then back to the start!!!!

Channel 4 are doing the same with Desperate Housewives and Invasion.

My pet hate at the moment is the fact that actor's, producer's, writer's and director's credits continue for around 10 minutes of the programme ( and that is NOT counting the ad breaks ). With the ad break we still have credits a quarter of the way into the show !

I know how important it is for these people's carreers to get their credit, and I like to know who is involved, but when the episode is being set up, I don't want to be distracted by yet another credit popping up on the screen.

One solution. Sky +.

All I do is record lost on Sky + then wait 5 minutes before watching it. Then fast forward all the ads!

If anyone is going to get Sky + because of what i've said then let me know. Youget 50 of M&S vouchers if you introduce someone to Sky!!! :)

I agree, it is ridiculous, especially on Lost. The ad's always seem to spoil tense atmosphere. For example, something scary is about to happen and then it cuts to the two 118 118 men.

Absolutley stupid!!

:Ace:

The easiest way to tell is when there is an ad on about a forthcoming channel 4 programme, then what usually folows this is the rest of the programme...sky does this a lot too...
