I’m sick of it .I don’t know what the weather has been like for you but it’s now been 36 hrs of constant drizzle here ( York )its getting boring!

Some of the trades on construction sites around here have been told to quit for the day because of the heat. At least they have been told they can quit if they want to: it's purely voluntary. However, according the regulations when it reaches a certain temperature the site supervisors have to give them the option.

You're not the only one, dustypuss, our ducks are happy, but they're the only ones. Friend who has horses is at her wits end because her fields are saturated (E. coast Yorkshire) and someone else I spoke to today (has been here 15 years) says he's never known a July like it.

We are booked to take very lively (personally I think he's hyperactive) 6 yr-old grandson to Pickering traction engine rally on Friday and I'm beginning to worry.

Didn't walk the dog this morning, it was more of a paddle!
