I've just watched Corrie, and Roy on his payphone got me thinking...now that most folk have mobile phones, do these payphones still exist?

Yes you can still get them, rare now though.
Indeed they do. There's one in The Red Brolly services on the A9 at Ballinluig.

Interesting question, I can't actually think of one phone box in my area.

I have a BT one opposite my driveway. When we first moved here it was very popular with those who liked more of a kick from their smokes.
Haven't seen anybody near it in ages.

the phone companies are reluctant to maintain them
as everyone has mobiles now
