my son has again gone on a web site that has turned task manager off.i found a site previously that told me how to turn it on, any ideas folks? it was something like xprepair.

also any ideas on how to stop the little lurker accessing these sites cos he's better on the pc than me so when i put a firewall on he turns it off. then when i want to go on ebay or the answer bank all i can get is big busty girls! (not that i have anything against them!)

also he's got a task bar at the top of the screen that i can't delete,at 14 he's to young for "gambling,internet pharmacy, finance,insurance & adult! "

any help will be much appreciated. as you can see the time this question is posted means i have just spent another three hours trying to sort this out& don't want to have to do it again.

If you are using Windows XP then set up two user accounts.

You can do this by going into the Control Panel and choosing User Accounts.

You should set up a user account for yourself with administrator authority and a password. DO NOT TELL ANYONE THE PASSWORD.

Set up a user acount for him with a limited account option. This will then stop him doing various things on the computer (install programs etc).

If other members of the family need to use the computer then set them limited user accounts as well.

Make sure they are no other spare user accounts on the computer.

By having separate user accounts this will mean that each of you have separate places to hold your files. If he does download any sort of virus then it may only affect his user account and not yours.

If he continues to turn off the firewall STOP HIM USING THE COMPUTER.

Without the firewall you are open to anyone stealing personal data off your PC, downloading rogue programs and installing viruses.

Unless he understands the importance of a firewall then I would not let him use the computer.
