My partner has applied for us to go on "Dont Tell The Bride".
I am assuming that the show gets thousands of applications so I am not going to concern myself with whether I think this is a good idea or not as likely to get no response!
We do want to marry within 2-3 years and we are struggling to finance and agree on a definite wedding plan, but if we got accepted on to the show, would I want to go through with it? I am not sure. £12k to plan a wedding does sound great

Maybe that could be the twist that gets us on the show!!!
I shall warn you now. If Fluff plans the wedding

1 You will wear a dress, your bride will be dressed as a mushroom (Fluff's favourite food)
2 The reception will be the local boozer
3 Murphy the cat will be chief bridesmaid, but may fatally injure a number of the guests

Go for it!!!1
nearly right

the bride would be a sausage and the reception woudl be a beach party but otherwise spot on

Ok..... I'm keeping notes!
I find this programme really interesting. Most women have been planning their wedding in their head for years - since they were about 5 probably! I think to some extent they don't even spare a thought for the groom, just a fixed idea of what they want and when they go on Don't Tell the Bride they get the chance to share those plans - church wedding, reception in a big country house etc etc which then makes good telly because it contrasts with how it actually turns out. To some extent, the groom is hardly matters in most women's dream wedding. However, with the men planning the weddings they tend to approach it from a different perspective and make it more poignant to the couple - for example the groom who gave the wedding a Christmas theme because he knew his bride loved Christmas, or the one who had a beach display in the marquee showing pictures and memories of the couple when they first met and were first dating. Ok, so the men don't always get it right and there are trials and tribulations along the way, but I think it's really interesting to watch the way the blokes approach it compared to how a woman would. IMO anyway!!
