The link is mainly about adults who have gone, not children
Unaccompanied children are not supposed to travel on their own.

Passports should not be given to children to look after, irrespective of the religion of the child.
There is a roaring trade in false passports

Children as young as 5 years old can trvel on British Airways.
Gromit - they have to be handed over by a guardian and handed to a guardian at the destination. I can`t see the ground staff handing a 5 year old over to IS

I was given charge of my passport and birth certificate when I was eight
( 1958) I think they idea was that in the post war years
children had to be able to prove who they were in all circumstances
Children flying with Ryanair and Airlingus could fly solo from the age of 7. They have since upped the age to 12.

My sons are 16 and 18...I wouldn't dream of confiscating their passports.

With referenc eoto the number of schoolgirls going to syria. Not only the fact they could get their passport but how did they pay for the flights??
