Locusts@ Are women treated equally? Yes and no. Depends on the man.

Locusts when you read these works a medication on them.and studies of words you can see there is no distinction between man and woman in the word he used .he creative them male and female he did not put one about the other the word he used was showing no distinction,.when you read the words and proverbs you can see how important the woman is as a help her to the man .

there is a say in the two heads are better than 1.specially when there's important matters to discuss and to be able to solve many problems.

Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition
Genesis 1 27 And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them. ?
1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)
Proverde 31 .10 Who shall find a virtuous
woman ? for her price is far above the pearls.
11 The heart of her husband trusteth in her,
and he shall have no need of spoil.
12 she will do him good, and not evil all the days of
her life.
King James Version (KJV)
Colossians 3 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

As you can say Colossians it talks about loving your wife
locusts //when you read the words and proverbs you can see how important the woman is as a help her to the man//

You really don't get it do you?

The simple fact is that the Abrahamic religions place women as subordinate to men and assigns a lesser value to the woman. It is explicit gender prejudice and no amount of fiddling with the words is going to make a difference.
locusts //take a surgeon - he has an anesthetist during the surgery, Can one manage without the other? Though the surgeon performs the actual operation he is no more important than the anesthetist. In a similar way God created the man and the woman to co-operate closely, not to be in competition . //

Your prejudice shines through when you refer to the surgeon as "he", implying that only a man can be a surgeon. Similarly your religion proscribes roles for men and subordinate roles for women.

In an enlightened world both men and women can be surgeons or any other profession they want. Only the ignorant consider it otherwise.
Beso@ The illustration of the surgeon and anesthetist was actually posted by me not Locusts. But never mind, it gets to us all from time to time.
I was not being prejudiced or sexist.

Okay, I should have said he/she but I didn't. So really you are just nit picking!

Today women have many roles to play, they also hold down very responsible positions in government, society etc.

The Bible never regards women as 2nd best.

It is the man himself that has done that. The Jews took that stance because it allowed them to divorce their wives with just a word.
They made up their own laws, These laws demeaned women. For example they had a law (oral not written) that said a wife should walk behind and not beside her husband.
Men were warned against having conversations with women in public, regardless of whether it was his wife or not.
They even formed a prayer in which they thanked God for not being a women.

The religious leaders buried God’s Law under a mass of man-made rules and regulations. The Sabbath law simply forbade work on the Sabbath, setting that day aside for worship, spiritual refreshment, and rest. But the Pharisees made a burden of that law. They took it upon themselves to decide just what “work” meant.

"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church".
1 Corinthians 14:34-35

How do you justify that?
Naomi@ 1 Cor. 14 v 34 & 35.
Paul not belittling the intelligence of woman - in fact Paul commends Timothy's mother & grandmother.

Pity you didn't read the verses 26 - 30. This is where real Bible study comes in. You don't just take one or two verses, you read the whole context. In this case, it was not only women who were told to be silent. Paul mentions individuals who had the gift of tongues and prophecy to be silent when another believer was speaking. Also, there was possibility that these women were so enthusiastic about this new faith they had found that they would keep interrupting the speaker to ask questions. This is why Paul encouraged them to question their own husbands when at home.

Eve was created as 2nd best.

No, Eve was not created 2nd best. If you know your bible as you so often say, then you will know that God created woman as a helper to Adam. She was a complement .
The Hebrew word translated “complement” can also be rendered “counterpart,” which has been defined as “a thing that fits another perfectly. This would indicate that they were equals as they both had an active part in filling the earth with their offspring.
