When I went out to water my hydrangea this afternoon I noticed that half of the plant was infested with Hydrangea Scale. I later went around to my late Mum`s house (about 80mtrs away) and her hydrangea had the same problem. The conditions at the moment must be perfect for it to flourish. There is a lot of info about how to eradicate it on the internet but I just wondered if anyone here has any personal experience of this pest?

I think you're right, scale insect does seem to flourish in these hot dry conditions. I've seen it on 80ft lime trees, all through the stems and branches.
