Whenever I open Chrome now it tells me that my preferences cannot be shown and it's crashing frequently.
I don't want to lose all my logins and bookmarks by going over to Firefox.
Please help.
I can't play programmes from Channel 4 because it's not recognising a setting.
It's been like this for about a week.

Open Chrome. Type this into the address bar: chrome://settings/passwords Hit 'Enter'. You'll see a list of everything you've stored passwords for. Click on one of the the items to highlight it. Then click on the 'Show' button. That will show you your password for that item.

Resetting Chrome will probably fix the problem. It delete things such as installed extensions (so make a note of any that you want to retain, as you'll need to re-install them) but preserves your bookmarks and passwords:

However if you install Firefox it will ask you whether or not you want to import your bookmarks, etc from other browsers, so you wouldn't lose anything by doing so.

Chris I already have Firefox and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome to no avail
Personally, I would stay away from Google Chrome and transfer all Bookmarks etc to Firefox. You will end up with a better Browser and more enjoyment with all of your Internet activities.

Hans.
Having used Firefox for years I find it to be much more resource hungry than any other browser so now I much prefer Chrome.

Well I managed to import my bookmarks thank you, but all of my passwords are lost so I won't be able to get into half the stuff on Firefox because I don't remember the logins.
It's a start though, thanks.
