Looking at EBay Diecast Vehicle Auctions it seems that the majority of the items attract no bids, and I wonder if this is because of the postage charges which in some cases are greater than the item. Add postage to the item price makes the items expensive - or is it just me wanting a bargain. The same comment applies to other auction categories.

Sammy, they did it to stop the scamming sellers listing items for 10p with £40 P&P to avoid paying full eBay charges.
I don't remember ever seeing any items like that. So we genuine Sellers have to suffer from greedy others, great.
It's always the way, the baddies spoil it for everyone
Some still do it,especially if they are large business sellers. When you do your profit/loss accounts P&P is counted as an 'allowable expense. ie tax deductible. If you charge £10 P&P you can claim back the selling fees on this amount plus 100% cost of packing, and the correct amount for the postage.
The lens cap I sold was still in the original box as new, but the new price would have been over £20, so a bargain at £6.70.
