Recently I was given a compound mitre saw and although it's in good shape the blade needs replacing. The replacement blade, which was given along with the saw has the arrows going in the opposite direction to the blade on the saw.Is it a simple matter of turning the replacement blade around so the teeth go in the right direction or does this create a problem?

Yes, just turn it around!
I must say that I find this a bit odd, as in my experience all blades rotate in the same direction (clockwise)
Someone asked me that only yesterday, Vulcan. This was a regular portable circular saw, but the same thing applies.

Turn the blade over so the arrow follows the one on the saw.

Thank you both for your answers. I must admit I had only seen clockwise blades and although common sense would suggest turning the blade over I wanted to check with experienced people. Thanks again.
And if you don't feel like turning it around then just throw away this one and buy one with arrow the way you would like it to be. Easy peasy.
