" Surely not another one" Yep, believe it or not, another pest in Labour well-known to use and abuse the racism card regularly, so perhaps he is ideal if only to bring a quicker end to this humilitated shambles of a political party.

For anyone that can't picture him, this was one of his better moments;

I can't see any impediment to him throwing his hat into the ring.
He said on television this morning that if it was suggested to him, he would go for it. I guess it must have been suggested to him.

I doubt he has the coordination to manage that, sandy.
Svejk, oh Gawd! Surely not another one! I've just read your link.
at least he had the humility to apologise svejk - some others making comments like that would have robustly defended them, implying that the papal traditions were themselves racist, black smoke representing indecision, and all that.

I suspect that Chuka Umunna will get the job.

But I would have thought that Labour would give the job to a woman.
That's all Labour needs after the embarrassment that was Miliband - someone getting precious over non-existent racism!
Aside Swejk, what is your avatar?
Lammy will extend tory power ;)
Did this bloke say on the news last night that he would not stand for that post as he wants a go at Mayor of London. Still another politician who thinks we cannot remember things that they have said.
The list goes on....T.Liar, G.Brown , E.balls.
Mamyalynne

Thank you for that Mamyalynne, a 'Cheque' is in the post.

When the expenses scandal broke, the highest claim by any MP in the country (£175,000) went to one,,,,,,David Lammy. This despite representing a constituency so close he couldn't indulge in house-flipping, mortgage fraud and all the other cons associated with second homes.
who? they should give it to Harperson, it must be her turn, then she can lead them off a cliff!

David Lammy is planning to stand for London Mayor I believe,
He isn't a contender for the Labour leadership, although apparently he said in an interview that he would consider it. He would have about as much chance of becoming Labour Leader as I would ...
