I have read it and have read all of his books, really enjoying them. I can't really tell you what I think about it, as that would reveal the ending.

I enjoyed it but, felt cheated at the end.

Let me know what You think when you've read it.

Hi chrissa. I've asked because I thought it started off really well and had me hooked, but as it goes on, I'm finding it boring. I'll probably persevere as I'm keen to know what the twist is, but I'm disappointed that it hasn't really 'delivered'. Interesting that you felt cheated at the end.
Let me know what you think when you get to the end, chaptaz.
Question Author
I will, I'm starting to have theories now on what's going on !
I've read it and enjoyed it. I did think it was a bit odd though
Question Author
I'm about two-thirds of the way through now, but to be honest, I don't think I'll read any more of his. I'll persevere with this though as I am keen to see how it all ends.
Stick with it, chaptz.
Question Author
Well I've finished it chrissa and as I got nearer to the end, I was very keen to know what happened. Wasn't surprised that she had lost her mind, but a good twist when it was explained how it had happened, never would have guessed that. Left a bit up in the air when at the very end she wanted to see her family and have a word - we'll never know how that turned out ! Still don't think I'll read any of his other books, as I did find this one hard going.
Yes, that's what I meant, chaptz. His other books, set in Russia, are much better and I think you'd enjoy them.
Question Author
Which would you recommend chrissa ? Won't be on for a while, as I'm going away tomorrow, will check when I get back.
For books set in Russia, the Don Flows Home to the Sea, Shokolov is my choice....brilliant writing and exposé of the Cossacks/Communists.
Question Author
I prefer a good old fictional thriller DT !
His trilogy is good, chaptz.

1) Child 44
2) The Secret Speech
3) Agent 6

I enjoyed them all. Have a good time away.
Question Author
Thanks chrissa, stayed with friends in Scotland, despite some snow, we had a lovely time !

I'll give the trilogy a go. I know someone who has Chikd 44, so maybe they'll let me borrow it.
