Are eucalyptus logs suitable for a log burning stove or fire, or does the oil in them cause problems ?.

They tend to spit. Oak is the best.
well they seem to be burning OK in the bush fires ! hur hur hur

I imagine coming from a country that has myrtle but not eucalyptus that it is a bit like burning pine - smells a bit
Well coming from a land where they're pretty much all we've got (except where people plant non-indigenous types for decorative purposes) i can say they burn very well !!

Dried out burns best, the green sort doesn't do so well .....btw pine has too much resin for clen burning.
The logs are almost impossible to split with an axe, so bare that in mind also.
Are they ....what size are the darn things Ratter ?
Depends what sort of Eucalyptus. Many types are excellent for a stove.
As for splitting them, put your back into it.
We burn, ironbark, yellow box, white box and speckled gum during the winter, perfect.
And don't they smell good too, ...morning 1ozzy, how are you ?
Hi Seekeerz I'm well thanks, hope you are too, lovely morning here. Alas I need to duck out, buy car parts and then have fun pretending to be a mechanic.
They do smell divine when burning.
Cya
Take care.
