I eat plenty of vegetables, but I'm interested in looking to buy a juicer. Would this be false economy on my part, by eating vegetables I certainly get roughage as I throw little away, or do the benefits of juicing outweigh eating the whole vegetable? I would welcome any advice from anyone who uses a juicer. Many thanks.

My mum had one. You have to use quite a lot of fruit/veg for a relative small amount of juice.
I don't have a juicer and to be honest, I love vegetables so it's not really something I would consider buying, but your post made me think.
If you google 'uses for leftover juice pulp' you'll find lots of ideas although I think it would depend on how keen a cook you are, or if youre prepared to spend the extra time firstly juicing the veg and then turning the pulp into something too. Or just eat the veg :)
We have a juicer but purely because we have an excess of apples every year. If you had to buy the fruit or veg it would make for very expensive juice!
I love my juicer. It's a Jason Vale one and I LOVE it. I would recommend a juicer if you have an excess of any type of fruit or veg. An apple and ginger one first thing in the morning will kick start your day with a zing!
I would recommend a Nutrimagic. They retail about £100 but you can get them on E Bay for around £65. Unlike other juicers they have a more powerful motor which will leave no pulp and will juice everything including nuts. Be careful because there are very many similar names but are not as powerful.
