Economy 7

Having just received my bill for electricity, there are 2 meter readings on it. Does this mean I'm on Economy 7? If so, can I get off it or does it mean a whole new system? We have normal radiators, not storage heaters and do virtually nothing with electricity at night so I can't see any benefit. Added to that, it seems much cheaper to be on a normal system, having looked on uswitch.com.

Grateful for any advice, thanks!

You can change very easily.

If you contact your electricity supplier they will examine your usage and advise you if you are better off changing or sticking with what you have.

Then you can use a service such as uswitch to get the best possible deal.
Forget to say that I am on economy 7 and have normal gas central heating.

However, I use my tumble drier on cheap rate electricity and also my immersion heater during the summer for the hot water.

Thanks Ethel. Just had my combined monthly direct debit bill which they've put up from 36/mth to 86/mth which has made me think quite quickly about whether I am getting the best deal!!

Will be in touch to see what they say. Thanks again.

I think that if you have economy 7 you will be paying more for your electric than normal for 17Hrs a day and a lot less for 7 off peak Hrs.
